Aquatic Training and Development Coordinator

Davina’s Swim House is seeking a full time energetic, motivated, self-starting individual for our growing swim school.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overseeing of the day to day operations of facility and programs, ensuring regulations are being followed while promoting a safe, clean, welcoming environment.
  • Works with management to develop and update inhouse programs through the creation of content, support material, resources, trainings, roll out, updates, recognition and promotion.
  • Continual training and mentoring of staff on inhouse programs.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements leadership, special events and specialty trainings.
  • Working with Aquatic Managers, responsible for the scheduling and coordination of leadership at all locations.
  • Coordinate the promotion of aquatic leadership and specialty programs and maintain up to date knowledge of all programs.
  • Monitor leadership programs and conductors to ensure consistency and high-quality programs are maintained and are in compliance with governing agency. Teach and mentor when necessary. 
  • Ensure supplies and equipment for leadership and specialty programs are present and in good condition. Ensure all required literature is purchased in a timely and cost-effective manner.   Ensure all documentation is completed correctly, submit to the appropriate agency in a timely manner and filed.
  • Recruitment, hires and orient aquatic leadership trainers as required.
  • Works with Customer Service staff to assist with registrations, program inquires and customer inquires and concerns. Respond to inquires and complaints in a timely manner; interpret and support current policy and procedures
  • Develop, implement and deliver with assistance from Facility teams Sessional training, DSH inhouse speciality trainings and any other required training
  • Mentors and coaches’ staff to deliver a high-level instructional program to clients.
  • Cultivates a positive work environment and team engagement.
  • Continual training, mentoring and support Head Instructors and Swim Instructors on teaching strategies, student progress, and ongoing staff development through on deck instruction and guarding.
  • Responsible for tracking of staff qualifications and reminders to staff of expiration dates and required trainings
  • Assists with recruitment, hires and onboards aquatic team members as needed
  • Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally in the field of aquatics, staff management and customer service

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post secondary education. Recreation field preferred 3 – 5 years of Aquatic Supervision
  • Current Red Cross and Lifesaving qualifications to instruct, guard and teach advanced aquatic courses
  • Pool operator’s certificate an asset
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends in alignment with the schedule to the facility and needs of the business
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of delivery and administration of leadership programs.
  • Self motivated with a demonstrated ability to function independently and in teamwork situations
  • Excellent leadership, administration, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven focus on customer service, complemented by superb organization, team building and multi tasking skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet, and any other related software
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search will be required

Aquatic Manager

Davina’s Swim House is seeking a full time energetic, motivated, self-starting individual for our growing swim school.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day operations of facility and programs, ensuring regulations are being followed while promoting a safe, clean, welcoming environment.
  • Recruits, hires and onboards aquatic team members as needed. Ensuring qualifications and ministry standards are met.
  • Assist team with development and delivery of sessional training,
  • Mentors and coaches’ staff to deliver a high-level instructional program to clients.
  • Cultivates a positive work environment and team engagement.
  • Continual mentoring, training and support Head Instructors and Swim Instructors on teaching strategies, student progress, and ongoing staff development through on deck instruction and guarding.
  • Responsible for scheduling and delegating operation activities, ensuring productivity, quality of work, safety and efficiency
  • Coordinate the promotion of aquatic programs and maintain up to date knowledge of all programs at DSH facilities
  • Implement master facility schedules and day to day revision of schedules to optimize efficiency and meet client needs
  • Responsible for creating and implantation of all programs.
  • In unison with other facilities ensure consistency and high-quality programs are maintained at all DSH locations.
  • Works with Customer Service staff to assist with registrations, program inquires and customer inquires and concerns.
  • Respond to inquires and complaints in a timely manner; interpret and support current policy and procedures
  • Responsible for tracking of staff qualifications, trainings and daily records
  • Complete preliminary payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Purchase supplies and equipment for aquatic facilities in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally in the field of aquatics, staff management and customer service
  • Ensure the facility is maintained and kept clean, sanitized and in good working order at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post secondary education. Recreation field preferred

  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
