Swim Instructor Courses
** Leadership courses are Non-Refundable. Courses cancelled by Davina’s Swim House or the candidate are entitled to a credit. Candidates who choose to withdraw with less than 72 hours notice may be subjected to a $50.00 administrative fee. Credits never expire, are transferable between courses and individuals, and can be used to purchase products or services.
Do you want to teach swimming? Gain the knowledge to teach and evaluate skills and strokes in an aquatic setting. Take one or all three of the Instructor programs and become certified through the Red Cross and/or Lifesaving society to teach people of all ages how to swim and be safe around an aquatic setting.
LSS Swim Instructor
The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor course prepares the candidates to acquire proven teaching methods, a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques. Candidates will be certified to teach the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program which includes Parent and Tot, Preschool, Swimmer, Adult, and Fitness.

15 years of age (by end of course) and Bronze Cross

LSS Lifesaving Instructor
The Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor course prepares individuals to organize, plan, teach and evaluate lifesaving and first aid skills and resuscitation techniques in the Society’s lifesaving and first aid awards. Because the Society’s first aid courses are recognized by Ontario’s Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB), the Society complies with WSIB’s request that only “first aid instructors” teach WSIB-approved courses. Successful candidates on the Lifesaving Instructor course receive two certification cards: Lifesaving Instructor and Emergency First Aid Instructor. Current Lifesaving Instructors are certified to teach: Canadian Swim Patrol Program, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Lifesaving Fitness, Distinction Current Emergency First Aid Instructors are certified to teach and certify candidates in: Basic First Aid, Emergency First Aid and CPR-A, B.

Davina’s Swim House Instructor Certification
This course is for certified Swim Instructors wishing to teach at Davina’s Swim House. This course teaches the specific DSH learn to swim program. Candidates will learn specialized techniques specific to DSH.
